Default Sig w/Greenbacks

Has anyone tried the Sig with Celestion Greenbacks? I will be acquiring a new 4 x 12 cab in the next few weeks, although a VHT / Fryette is at the top of the list, it may not be in reach. So, if anyone has tried the Siggie with the Greenbacks, please give me some feedback.

Not a Sig X owner here but I was very suprised at the tone and grunt with my Deliverance thru a older Marshall4x12 w/greenbacks.

My experiances with VHT is they always seemed best with VHT cabs...as the case with a Ultralead I had..it hated V30's...and what a differance with a VHT Fatbottom once I bought a couple of them.

But,since the Siggy and Deliverance are "close in gain/tone you should be fine. I love my head cab combo.

You know, keep your eye out for a used VHT 4x12. They can be had at a cost equal to that of other used cabs.
Also,if your buying new,see if the store can come down abit. I scored a new FatBottom a year ago from Guitar Center for $950.00 out the door.

I would love to hear the sig through a 20watt greenback loaded cab. Even something like the EVH III cab would be cool to check out. Not so sure that the 25 watter's mid range bump would be very flattering to the sig's tone. Either way, I know the bass response wouldn't even compare to my D412, but bass response doesn't necessarily make or break tone imo. I suspect that the 20 watters might help create a very warm more natural tone with creamier highs... vs VHT's, (ehem!) Fryette's tendency to be very high-fi sounding, again imo.

But what do I know, I'm just a caveman.

Don't get me wrong, LOVE the D412, but I love many flavors. Hence why I bought a Sig:X

Default Sig X with non-VHT cab / speakers

I haven't had good luck pairing VHT heads with my vintage Marshall cab, though I've never tried greenbacks. Mine has G12M-70 celestions. But, I did find something I like for an old school rock/metal tone. That is, I was just messing around setting up my bedroom studio and I plugged my Sig X into my 1967 Fender Blackface pro reverb. So essentially, it's the Sig X in 40 watt mode through an open back fender cab with 12" Oxford 12L6s, which I believe are 20 watt speakers. Anyway I like the sound and it's a little less of what this thread was referring to as the "hi fi" sound. More vintage. Anyway if you look, you can find these old oxford speakers for cheap and I'm toying with the idea of making a real cab out them for the Sig X, but it's quite a ways down the priority list. Usually I run slave my Pittbull 45 2x12 combo, to utilize its cab and the PB P50E speakers. I was all set to buy a VHT cab a while back but it was cheaper for me to buy a mint condition 2x12 PB 45 combo.

Anyway, here's sample/test. The right and left rhythm guitars are the Six X lead channel and the lead guitar is the rhythm channel. No efx or anything on the gtrs. A little verb on the mix.
